NOTICE OF NOMINATION FOR OFFICE

Municipal Elections Act, 1996, (s.32)

NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Municipality of West Nipissing.  

Nominations in the Municipality of West Nipissing for the offices of:

MAYOR

COUNCILLORS

TRUSTEES - ENGLISH LANGUAGE

PUBLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

(NEAR NORTH DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD)

TRUSTEES FRENCH LANGUAGE

PUBLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

(CONSEIL SCOLAIRE PUBLIQUE DU NORD-EST DE L’ONTARIO)

TRUSTEES ENGLISH LANGUAGE SEPARATE

DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

(NIPISSING-PARRY SOUND CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD)

TRUSTEES FRENCH LANGUAGE SEPARATE

DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

(CONSEIL SCOLAIRE CATHOLIQUE FRANCO-NORD)

 

may be made by completing and filing in the office of the Clerk, nominations in the prescribed form, and accompanied

by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $200.00 for the Head of Council and $100.00 for all other offices.  The filing fee

is payable by cash, certified cheque or money order.

 

A nomination must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent during regular business hours

between Tuesday, January 5, 2010 and Friday, September 24th, 2010, and between 9 am and 5 pm.

 

In the event that there is an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill all positions available, nominations will be reopened for

the vacant position only on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm and such additional nominations,

if required, may be filed in the office of the Clerk.

 

Election documents are prohibited from being filed by fax.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

CANDIDATES CANNOT ACCEPT CONTRIBUTIONS NOR SPEND FUNDS UNTIL THEY ARE REGISTERED WITH THE MUNICIPAL CLERK.

UPDATE –NOMINATIONS- MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS 2010

Legislative changes to the Municipal Election Act, 1996 and Bill 212 of the Good Government Act, 2009, enacted on December 15 2009,

have advanced Voting Day for the 2010 Municipal Elections to October 25, 2010.

 

Notice was given to Municipal Electors of the Municipality of West Nipissing in the Tribune issue January 5, 2010 that nominations may now

be filed for the offices of:

 

Mayor and Councilors   (Ward 1 to Ward 8)

 

  • TRUSTEES:
  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE - PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD

(Near North District School Board)

         

  • FRENCH LANGUAGE – PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD

(Conseil Scolaire publique Nord-Est de l'Ontario)

  • ENGLISH LANGUAGE - SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD

(Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholique District School Board)

  • FRENCH LANGUAGE SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD    

(Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord)

Tuesday, January 5, 2010 to Thursday, September 9, 2010, and from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday September 10, 2010.

 

In the event that there is an insufficient number of certified candidates to fill all positions available, nominations will be reopened

for the vacant position only on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 between the hours of 9 am and 2 p.m. and such additional

nominations, if required, may be filed in the Office of the Clerk.

Reminder:

Candidates cannot accept contributions nor spend funds until they are registered with the Municipal Clerk.
