Flooding Emergency Update 4

There are currently no changes in road conditions to report at this time. The weather forecast continues to indicate lessened precipitation and reduced wind speeds for today through Sunday. However, water levels may rise by 2-3 cm per day over the weekend. The Municipality reminds residents to remain cautious and to keep children and pets away from fast moving waterways. Emergency Services and Operations Crews will continue to patrol and assess conditions over the weekend. To protect infrastructure and to avoid potential safety hazards, the public is instructed to stay away from the affected areas unless they are volunteering.

Road Conditions

Road conditions are updated on as information becomes available. 



100 bags per residence is available to those in need. Sand bags are to be used to protect homes and wells, not secondary structures and shorelines. Sand bags can be picked up at:

  • Sturgeon Falls Fire Station (225 Holditch Street): 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Lavigne Fire Station (Hwy 64 South): 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday and Sunday, May 11-12.

    Sand piles are available in areas including:

  • Marleau Road (at Lac Deux Milles Road Intersection)
  • Marleau Road (at the East end/dead end)
  • Avenue du lac in Lavigne
  • End of Eugene Rd (between Arbour and Comeau)
  • O’Brien (Turn around) 
  • Quesnel (West End) 
  • End of Lac Deux Milles (dead end/turnaround)
  • End of Argo Road
