Volunteers truly are the heart of our community! If you have passed by Main Street in Sturgeon Falls over the past few weeks, you have certainly noticed the transformation of a beautiful mural being painted on an exterior wall of Mel’s Glow Tanning. This project is another initiative from the Sturgeon Falls Beautification Group. Lead by Gayle Primeau and painted by artists Raymonde Gaudette, and Suzanne Brouillette, the mural was painted over a span of five weeks with over 150 hours of hard work. The mural encompasses the theme of beautification, depicted through various scenes of people working together to beautify their community, while enjoying the fruits of their labour. It is apparent through the details and personal touches that immense thought and community recognition went into this project. Charles Goulard at Goulard Rona generously sponsored the project by donating all the paint.

Gayle has mentioned that the mural is getting positive attention around town and has already been approached by two businesses who are interested in this type of initiative. She is hopeful that many more will start to “pop up all over town”.

The Municipality of West Nipissing would like to thank Gayle, Suzanne and Raymonde for their time, care and commitment to the beautification of our community. We encourage residents to take the time to thank our volunteers and to check out their most recent artwork.
