Public Notice
Flooding Emergency Update 6

May 13, 2019 3:40 pm

Effective immediately,  the following Municipal Boat Launches with access to Lake Nipissing and the Sturgeon River, are closed until further notice.

  • Marina Minnehaha Bay
  • Sturgeon River House Museum
  • Holditch Street in Sturgeon Falls
  • Cache Bay (Both Municipal Launches)
  • St-Jean Municipal Launch
  • Lavigne Municipal Launch

We understand this may be inconvenient for some, but with the current water levels and hazardous debris, the slightest ripple can cause significant damage to shoreline properties. Residents will be advised as soon as conditions have improved and launches are accessible.

There are currently no changes in road conditions to report at this time, and road closures remain in effect. Residents are reminded to keep children and pets away from fast-moving waterways. Boaters are urged to stay away from affected areas.

Emergency Services and Operations Crews continue to patrol and assess conditions daily. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.

For any flood related concerns or inquiries, contact the Municipality at 705.753.1171.
