Minnehaha Bay Community Waterfront Wharf

The redevelopment of the Minnehaha Bay Wharf and Marina located on King Street in Sturgeon Falls is a comprehensive undertaking that will include a number of facility upgrades and improvements to its recreational infrastructure. The opening of the newly renovated Minnehaha Bay Wharf and Marina is the culmination of several years of discussion and planning and the new amenity is promising to be an important addition to West Nipissing’s future success in economic development.

The Minnehaha Bay Wharf and Marina services and upgrades will include the following elements:

  • 38 permanent docking slips;
  • 38-40 transient docking spots;
  • Twenty-Four hour security;

  • Sewage pump out service;
  • Shore Power – Hydro;
  • Public Washrooms and Showers;
  • Secure parking and an Incline lift.

Permanent Boat slips will be issued primarily to Residents of West Nipissing and West Nipissing tax payers. No special privileges will be awarded. If the amount of interested Dockers exceeds that of our available permanent docking slips, the award process that shall be by way of a lottery. All interested Dockers’ names will be entered into a draw and slips will be awarded to the first 38 chosen. If spots remain empty, outside residents will then have an opportunity to purchase a boat slip on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that boat slips will be issued and registered under the specific boat that will occupy that particular spot. Boat slips will not be registered under the boat owners’ name.

If you are interested in purchasing a permanent boat slip, application forms can be picked up at the Municipal Offices, 225 Holditch Street, Sturgeon Falls, On, P2B 1T1 or found on our municipal website www.westnipissing.ca . Christmas Tree Pick-up 2010

West Nipissing Environmental Services Department would like to mention to residents that Christmas trees can be discarded free of charge at the Sturgeon Falls Landfill during hours of operation.

The Public Works Department of the Municipality of West Nipissing would also like to advise urban residents of Sturgeon Falls that discarded Christmas trees can be picked up from January 11th to January 15th, 2010. Please note that Public Works services will pass only once on your street.

Christmas tree(s) must be placed at the roadside, in a manner that will not interfere with snow removal operations by Sunday evening, January 10th, at the latest. We cannot guarantee collection of trees that are placed at the roadside later than January 10th. A specific schedule and the actual routes for pick-up activities cannot be available since the service will depend on weather conditions and the availability of crews.

West Nipissing Environmental Services and the Municipality of West Nipissing greatly appreciate your patience with this process.
