From June 1 to September 30, lawn and garden watering restrictions are in effect. Due to the increased demand for water during the summer, following this by-law can make a huge difference in maintaining normal water pressure and municipal storage tank levels. This is especially important during our lowest rainfall period as our water sources are not replenishing fast enough.

How to follow the Outdoor Watering By-law

If your address ends with an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9):

  • You can water your lawns and gardens on odd-numbered days of the month.

If your address ends with an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, 8):

  • You can water your lawns and gardens on even-numbered days of the month.

The Outdoor Watering By-law applies both day and night. Enforcement Officers monitor violations of the by-law. First time violations could result in a $300 ticket. Repeat violations could lead to charges under the Provincial Offences Act and a fine of up to $2000
