Applying for a building permit? Here are a few reminders from your Chief Building Official:
- You can now use an online form to apply for a Building Permit. The user-friendly portal allows you to save an incomplete application in case you don’t have time to submit all the details in one sitting.
- Remember to always include your drawings and specification sheets when submitting a permit application.
- Inspection requests can be made using the online request form. You can also request an inspection by phone or email through the Building Services Intake Clerk.
Property owners or contractors may reach out for advice and information at any time during the planning and construction process. We’re here to help. For details and contact information, visit the Building Services page.
Under the Ontario Building Code Act, you must obtain a building permit to construct, demolish, renovate, alter, install or change the use of a building. Construction may not begin until a building permit has been issued.
