Get ready to kick off the holiday season at the West Nipissing Parade of Lights on Friday, December 6!
Starting at 6:30 p.m., join us downtown to celebrate with festive floats, twinkling lights, and a visit from Santa.

Parade float registration is now closed! Thank you to everyone who signed up this year.
Any participants without proper insurance or registration will not permitted to join the parade.
PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
*Please be at the Community and Recreation Centre by 5:30 p.m. and ready to leave at 6:30 p.m. sharp*
- All participants must provide proof of liability insurance for a minimum of $2M.
- Any motor vehicles (including ATVs, tractors) require motor vehicle insurance.
- If you would like to have animals participating (i.e. horses), please contact hlaurin@westnipissing.ca
- The Municipality of West Nipissing is responsible for ensuring that all Parade activities comply with local Health and Safety Regulations.
- The Health and Safety of all parade volunteers and participants is the priority when planning any parade committee events.
- Handouts are NOT permitted along the parade route (no candies, flyers, etc.)
- Every parade entry/float is required to have two people walking in the parade on each side, to ensure the public’s safety and those involved in the parade. If animals are in the parade, you will be responsible for cleaning up after them “poop and scoop”.
- Standing on the floats or moving vehicles is not permitted unless safety harnesses are used or have a safety railing.
- Children on floats must be supervised by an adult.
- Your float should not exceed 13 feet in height, and no live Santa please, as he is on the last float of the parade.
- To prevent traffic congestion, all floats must arrive via Clark street and must turn in the complex parking lot (back arena entrance) PLEASE make sure your driver is aware.
- During the parade, please maintain between 10 and 30 feet between you and the float ahead of you. This must be adhered to in order to keep the parade moving along safely and not to cause gaps in the parade.
- The deadline to submitted your applications is Tuesday, December 3, 2024. Applications will not be accepted after this date.
*ANYONE ARRIVING ON THE DAY OF THE PARADE WITHOUT REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE*
