Roughly 75% of the households in West Nipissing are serviced by the curbside collection program.
Garbage Collection
Collection requirements– Waste is collected at the curbside on a weekly basis. All garbage must be secured in closed bags and at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day.
- No construction materials, hazardous waste or recyclable materials.
- Maximum of 4 bags/receptacles.
- Maximum weight of 40 lbs.
- No loose garbage (i.e. grocery bags or dog waste bags).
OOPS stickers are placed on curbside receptacles when the above rules are not being followed.

Recycling Collection
Collection requirements– Recycling is collected every two weeks. Place your blue bins at the curb no earlier than 7 p.m. the evening before and no later than 7 a.m. the morning of your collection.
Blue curbside carts have 2 compartments. Residents are asked to properly sort their recyclable materials – paper/fibers on one side, plastics and containers on the other.
