Curbside Pickup Services
West Nipissing Environmental Services collects garbage and recycling from roughly 5,000 households across the Municipality. Approximately 75% of the households in West Nipissing are serviced by the Curbside Recycling program, with the remaining households utilizing the Recycling Depot program.

Waste collection is conducted weekly. All garbage must be bagged and at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day, but not earlier than the evening before.
Collection requirements
- Maximum of 4 bags, containers, or receptacles
- Maximum weight of 40 lbs
- No loose garbage (i.e. grocery bags or dog waste bags)

Reasons your waste may not have been picked up
- Not out by 7 a.m.
- Exceeded weight restrictions
- Exceeded waste bag limit of 4
- Garbage was left loose at the curb

Blue Box Recycling Program
As of July 2, 2025, the province will be responsible for residential recycling in West Nipissing. All Ontario municipalities will have transitioned to the provincial blue box program by January 2026.
Circular Materials, a not-for-profit organization, is managing recycling programs across the province and is currently working with the Municipality to ensure a smooth transition. GFL Environmental Inc. has been retained by the province to handle recycling collection at the curb and at recycling depots. West Nipissing Environmental Services will continue to collect curbside garbage on a weekly basis, on the same day as usual.
