Adventure through our community this winter!

Cross-country ski through beautiful, groomed trails at the West Nipissing Nordic Ski Club. Explore the low-impact snowshoeing trail, with scenery overlooking Lake Nipissing at the Sturgeon River House Museum.

Lace-up your skates and bring the whole family to enjoy an afternoon at of the many outdoor rinks in West Nipissing.

Travel through over 330 km of groomed snowmobile trails in our community, connecting to surrounding Trans-Ontario Provincial trail systems. Our local trails are groomed and maintained by the West Nipissing Snowmobile Club.

The West Nipissing Nordic Ski Club

After January 1st every year, the Ski Club offers cross-country skiing on 13 km of groomed and tracked cross-country ski trails, and 12 km of snow-packed snowshoeing trails on the Sturgeon Falls Rod and Gun Club property. With a heated chalet, the Club is located about 4 km north off of Trans-Canada Highway 17.

Sturgeon River House Museum Trails

The Sturgeon River House Museum has 1km of low-impact walking or snowshoeing trails with scenery overlooking Lake Nipissing. Snowshoe rentals are available at the Museum during regular business hours.

*The Sturgeon River House Museum is closed until further notice. The trails are open, but please be mindful of other hikers and maintain physical distancing.

Located in District 11 of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC), the West Nipissing Snowmobile Club grooms and maintains over 330 km of trails, linking the community with other Trans-Ontario Provincial Trails in Sudbury, Temagami, French River, and the Temiskaming/Quebec border.
