High Forest Fire Risk in West Nipissing as of May 4, 2026

Diagram showing high risk

The West Nipissing Fire Service reminds all residents to take extra precautions as the current forest fire hazard is rated high. Even a small fire, like a campfire, brush burn, or improperly discarded cigarette can quickly become uncontrollable due to low humidity and wind.

How you can help:
• Avoid unnecessary burning
• Follow all permit and safety requirements
• Never leave fires unattended
• Report smoke or fire immediately

As outlined in By-law 2024/79, open-air burning is regulated to protect public safety, property, and the environment. Please refer to the by-law for full details.
