2026 Nominations Now Open

The Municipality of West Nipissing is proud to launch its annual Volunteer Recognition Program to honour the individuals and volunteer groups who make a lasting difference in our community.

HOW TO NOMINATE

Nominations can be submitted using the online form below. Paper copies are also available at the following locations:

  • Municipal Office:225 Holditch Street, Sturgeon Falls
  • Recreation Centre:219 O’Hara Street, Sturgeon Falls
  • West Nipissing Library branches – locations and hours

KEY DATES– 2026

Nominations Open: May 14
Deadline: June 1 at 12 p.m.
Selected Nominees Contacted: Week of June 8, 2025
Volunteer Recognition Event: June 25, 2026

Submission Deadline: June 1 at 12 p.m.

Nomination Categories
  • Rising Star – (Youth Volunteer, 17 & under)
  • Community Champion – (Adult Volunteer, 18–74)
  • Golden Heart – (Senior Volunteer, 75+)
  • Dream Team – (Community Volunteer Group)


There will be 12 recognitions in total, with 10 for individual volunteers and 2 for community groups.

Selection Process

All nominations will be reviewed by a Selection Committee whose decision is final. Only selected nominees will be contacted, and consent is required for the use of name, photo, and nomination details.

Selection will be based on length of service, level of involvement, leadership/mentorship, community impact and lasting contribution.
