The Municipality of West Nipissing is pleased to announce that it has been awarded up to $1,831,680 in funding through the Ontario Ministry of Transportation’s Connecting Links Program for the rehabilitation of a portion of Front Street in Sturgeon Falls.
This 2026 infrastructure project will include asphalt resurfacing, curb repair, and catch basin work, which will contribute to improving road conditions and enhancing safety for both residents and travellers. The project covers approximately 525 metres of road between Michaud Street and Coursol Road and is expected to be completed between May and July 2026.
The Connecting Links Program provides funding to eligible municipalities to repair roadways and bridges that connect two ends of a provincial highway through a community. The program covers up to 90 per cent of eligible project costs, helping small and rural municipalities invest in critical transportation networks.
