On Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hydro One will be replacing infrastructure on hydro poles along Nipissing Street, from Ethel Street to Third Street. Motorists are asked to avoid Nipissing Street if possible and follow construction signage. Residents are also asked to avoid parking along the west side of Nipissing Street that day.
According to Greater Sudbury Hydro, approximately 1,700 customers will be affected by the outage between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The outage follows electrical connections rather than neighbourhood boundaries, meaning some streets or portions of streets may lose power while nearby properties remain unaffected.
