The OPP green-and-white cruiser made a pit stop at our Municipal Office during its tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag.

The car is a vibrant symbol of the OPP’s commitment to French-language services and Franco-Ontarian communities, and is driven by a bilingual officer as it travels across eastern and northern Ontario. The car will be officially presented in Sudbury on September 25, during the 50th anniversary celebration.

Mayor Rochon had the pleasure of welcoming the OPP team, including: Jennifer Labelle, OPP Program Advisor – French Language Services, Provincial Constable Martin Mailloux-Ratté and Inspector Nathalie Rifou, Detachment Commander – Nipissing West.

We’re proud to see this celebration of Franco-Ontarian culture rolling through our community.
