The Municipality of West Nipissing is excited to welcome everyone to the Grand Opening of the Field Covered Rink on January 26, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by music, public skating and hot chocolate by the campfire. 

The event will celebrate years of fundraising efforts by local community groups and volunteers. This project was also made possible through significant contributions by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), the Municipality of West Nipissing, and the local Caisse Alliance branch. 

The old outdoor rink was replaced with a modern facility comprised of a new cement slab, a rooftop, a high-quality boards system, complete with exterior LED lighting. Construction began in June of 2023 and was finalised in January of 2024. The covered rink is located at the end of Jarbeau Road in Field, West Nipissing, Ontario.
