The Municipality of West Nipissing invites all interested persons to attend a Public Open House in order to provide input and ask questions on the Municipality’s draft Official Plan. 

Required under the Planning Act, an Official Plan sets out the Municipality’s direction and policy objectives for the long-term growth and development of the community and establishes where land uses should be located. The Official Plan affects all lands within the Municipality and covers a broad range of topics including housing, transportation, environmental protection, and economic development. The purpose of the new Official Plan is to update the policies of the existing Official Plan, in accordance with new provincial policy and to ensure that the Municipality’s Official Plan responds to the community’s current and future needs.

DATE AND LOCATION OF PUBLIC OPEN HOUSES:

Community input is integral to the review process. Public Open Houses provide residents and other stakeholders with an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions about the draft Official Plan. 

The Open House will consist of an informal opportunity to discuss the proposed Official Plan with staff from the Municipality and the consultant team, followed by a brief presentation providing an overview of the Official Plan and concluding with a question and answer period. There will be three Open House sessions, with the same information being presented at all sessions.

Date: March 27, 2025
Time: 3:00– 5:00 PM, formal presentation 3:30 PM
Location: Club d’Âge d’Or, 65 rue Jarbeau, Field

Location: Council Chambers, 225 Holditch, Sturgeon Falls

Public input on the draft Official Plan is welcomed. If you are unable to attend an Open House, written comments may be sent by email to officialplan@westnipissing.ca or by clicking here to use comment form on our project web page

Written comments may also be submitted in person at the Municipal Office.
All comments must be received by April 17, 2025, to be considered.
