Household Hazardous Waste Depot
Residents of West Nipissing have access, at no additional charge, to the Household Hazardous Waste Depot in North Bay. The depot is located at the Waste Diversion Facility (off Station Road) and is open Wednesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Items such as leftover paint, batteries, medicines, motor oil, chemicals, and other hazardous materials must be disposed of properly to help protect the environment and human health. Improper disposal — including pouring hazardous waste down drains — can damage plumbing and septic systems, contaminate surface and groundwater, release toxic fumes, and harm wastewater treatment processes.
Please note that a limit of 60 litres per week applies, and larger quantities may be refused at the discretion of depot staff.
Use the What Goes Where tool to see if a specific type of hazardous waste is accepted.
