The Short Term Rental by-law was adopted in West Nipissing on April 2, 2024. If you currently operate a short-term rental or are considering doing so, you should become familiar with the requirements outlined in By-law 2024/23 and take the necessary steps to obtain the appropriate license. It is mandatory for any property owner operating a short-term rental to hold a valid license. Obtaining a license can assist in avoiding potential inconveniences or fines.

A short-term rental accommodation is described as a home or part of a dwelling being rented for a short period of time (up to 28 days) in exchange for payment. It includes bed and breakfast establishments, but excludes businesses such as campgrounds, motels, or similar commercial operations.

The regulation ensures that all short-term rental operations in West Nipissing are conducted in a professional manner, promoting the safety and well-being of residents and visitors. For further information on licenses in West Nipissing, please visit the Licensing and Permits page.
