The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry – North Bay District, is advising Mattawa area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety bulletin is in effect in the district until Wednesday, June 1, 2022. 

Residents in the Mattawa area should exercise special caution around rivers and streams. Increased levels and flows, along with recent precipitation in the upper Ottawa River Watershed is expected to elevate water levels. Please alert and monitor any children under your care to these possible dangers and supervise their activities. 

The ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions.
