The Municipality of West Nipissing, in collaboration with local schools, is proud to host a special community event in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Franco-Ontarian flag.

Community members are invited to join the flag-raising ceremony on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Goulard Park. This milestone celebration will showcase local pride and cultural heritage through a brief but meaningful program, including the flag-raising ceremony, singing of the Franco-Ontarian anthem “Notre place”, along with a giant group photo.

Participants are encouraged to wear white and green, the official colours of the Franco-Ontarian flag, and bring their enthusiasm to help make this a memorable celebration of French-language culture and identity in Ontario.

Additional details:

  • Buses should park in the rear parking lot on Clark Street. School officials are encouraged to coordinate accordingly.
  • This event is weather-dependent. In the case of heavy rain or storms, the ceremony will be cancelled for safety reasons.
