West Nipissing Launches Skate Exchange Program to Support Affordable Recreation Locally

The Municipality of West Nipissing is pleased to announce the launch of a new Skate Exchange Program, aimed at promoting affordable access to skating for local families and individuals in West Nipissing.

The program is now accepting donations of used ice skates at the following locations:

  • Sturgeon Falls Arena – 219 O’Hara Street
  • Verner Arena – 80 Principal Street East
  • West Nipissing Community and Recreation Centre – 219 O’Hara Street
  • West Nipissing Community Health Centre – 68 Michaud Street

Please note that helmets and other equipment are not accepted at this time.

All donated skates will be cleaned and re-distributed to local skaters in the new year. This initiative reflects the Municipality’s continued commitment to supporting healthy, active lifestyles for residents of all ages. Public skating will continue to be offered with no admission fees at both arenas throughout the 2025-2026 ice season.
