The Municipality of West Nipissing is reminding residents to verify that their school board support designation is up to date in preparation to the upcoming municipal election.
For municipal election purposes, every property in Ontario is assigned to a school board. Whether residents own or rent their home, they have the option to choose which school board they support. If no designation is made, support is automatically assigned to the English-Public school board.
Residents are encouraged to review their information if, since 2022, they have:
- Moved to or within the Municipality of West Nipissing;
- Severed a property; or
- Changed their name.
Keeping voter information current helps ensure an accurate voters’ list and a smooth voting process.
