With the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election approaching, the Municipality of West Nipissing is reminding residents to take note of the important dates and information they will need to participate.
Residents are encouraged to ensure their voter information is up to date and to review the available election information ahead of the voting period.
Voting Method
The 2026 West Nipissing Municipal and School Board Election will be conducted using an electronic voting system, giving eligible voters the option to cast their ballot privately and conveniently from home.
Prior to the voting period, registered voters will receive a Voter Information Letter by mail containing a unique passcode allowing them to vote online or by telephone.
Residents who require assistance accessing the electronic voting system will be able to visit the voting kiosk at the Municipal Office during regular office hours (and designated hours on October 26, 2026).

Candidate nomination deadline: August 21, 2026, 2 p.m.
Withdrawal of nomination deadline: August 21, 2026, 2 p.m.
Voters receive their Voter Information Letter: Early October
Electronic voting opens: October 14, 2026, 9 a.m.
Final Voting Day: October 26, 2026, until 8 p.m.
