The Water and Wastewater Department has begun its annual water main flushing program. Flushing was completed in Verner on May 21 and will begin in Sturgeon Falls next week. Signage will be posted in affected areas, and updates will be provided as crews move to other locations throughout the municipality.
As part of this seasonal maintenance program, fire hydrants are tested and watermains are flushed to help maintain water quality and system performance. Hydrants are opened and allowed to flow in a controlled manner in one direction, removing sediment that can accumulate inside the pipes.
Residents may experience temporary water discolouration and minor fluctuations in water pressure while flushing is underway. If you notice discoloured water, run a cold water tap for approximately 15 minutes, or until the water runs clear.
If the issue persists, please submit a service request or call 705-753-2250.
