Anne Tessier, ward 6 Councillor, has announced that she is stepping down, effective Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

In a letter to her fellow members of Council, Ms. Tessier indicates that she and her family will be relocating for another opportunity. She will no longer be a resident or property owner in West Nipissing and is therefore renouncing her eligibility to sit on Council. Anne, who is known for her attention to detail, states, “I am grateful to everyone I met from the date I submitted my candidacy until now. This experience, as a member of Council, has helped me in developing new skills and knowledge for my new adventures.”

The seat will be declared vacant at the next meeting of Council on August 13, 2024. In accordance with By-law 2023-47, Council will use a process of appointment to fill the position. The seat must be filled within 60 days from the day it is declared vacant. More information will be made public when the application process begins.
