Council is considering whether to permit and regulate the keeping of chickens in urban residential areas (“backyard chickens”). Members of the public are invited to provide input on the topic. Any information provided by residents will be helpful in creating a by-law that is reflective of the needs of our community.
Currently, the keeping of chickens is only permitted in Agricultural and Rural zones in West Nipissing.
