Local organizations looking for financial assistance or fee waivers from Council are now asked to use the Discretionary Grant Application Form. The Discretionary Grant policy, established on June 4, 2024, helps Council to strategically allocate resources to support local community groups dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents. Although applications are accepted throughout the year, local organizations are asked to submit their applications by October 1 to be considered prior to Council’s yearly budget deliberations.

Council will assess each application carefully and will have the opportunity to learn more about each organization who requests funding or fee waivers. The program may support activities related to sports, seniors, and youth, special events, arts, culture, heritage, and economic development. The program is not meant to provide ongoing operational funding. All grant requests are subject to deliberations and budget limitations.

For more information on this program, including eligibility criteria and application details, please visit the Discretionary Grants and Fee Waivers page.
